INTRODUCTION For the keen sailor, 8 Endeavour Way could be the perfect property.
This former show-home in the renowned Hythe Marina Village has so much to offer and is ready to be enjoyed by an enthusiastic new owner. Whether it is the fabulous 16m mooring adjacent to all marina amenities; the spectacular, 'living floor' offering panoramic views of the picturesque central basin out into Southampton Water and the famous QE2 dock; the large low-maintenance, 'sun-spot' garden/outdoor living/entertaining space; the unusually peaceful, private aspect; the 5 minute waterside walk into Hythe village; or the spacious third-floor study, with surely the most superb, 'birds-eye' marina view for easy working-from-home (whilst you keep your eye on your boat!) Together with four bright bedrooms and three modern bathrooms and that 'Wow factor' panoramic view open-plan living floor to impress your guests (and it will); those who love to live an easy life by their boat will thrill to buy this property.
8 Endeavour Way is a unique property in the picturesque Hythe Marina Village. As one of the former marina show-homes it has spectacular and panoramic views right down the central basin of Hythe Marina out onto Southampton Water, directly opposite the historic QE2 dock where the most prestigious cruise ships such as Queen Mary 2 dock when they are in Southampton. The stunning views from the open-plan-living-floor in this property are utterly captivating and a, 'must-see' if you love all types of boats and life on the water.
The purchase of 8 Endeavour Way includes a rare and sought-after 16m/52ft mooring; one-minute walk away from the house through Hythe Marina Village's central, thriving communal area. The mooring is helpfully on the end of its group of berths and is conveniently adjacent to the toilets/shower & laundry block, as well as, the bars and restaurant, gym, sports massage and Pilates studios all situated within the central communal area. This makes it an easy and enjoyable berth for homeowner and crew. This superb mooring also offers a straight-line motor-out to reach the lock and has a large open space next to the pontoon which is helpful for turning a longer boat within the central marina basin. For the keen boat-owner this particular mooring is a massive boon.
8 Endeavour Way is a very easy to maintain, light-filled house, perfect to come back to after a day on the water. It has been enhanced and beautifully cared for by the current owners. Located in a serene part of the marina, with sun-filled country views to the other side of the house it provides an unusual feeling of peacefulness. It is a property which can be lived in full-time or alternatively make an easy, lock-up-and-go home.
The large, bright garden was re-designed in 2019 by the present owner to be more of an outdoor room. High quality materials were used together with low-maintenance year-round planting, perfect for lounging during the day, for casual dining or entertaining. It has two water features which contribute to the sense of being in a relaxed, private space. There is a door to the garage providing access from the garden. The garden gate also provides access to the car parking and communal garage area. The borders to the side and front of the house were redesigned for year-round colour and interest. There is a seating space by the front door with room for a bench and coffee table. The communal lawn and green space in front of the house are well maintained by the marina landscaping staff; it is picturesque, private and quiet as this path is only used by the immediate neighbours. It also provides a useful short-cut into Hythe village.
The vibrant village center of Hythe is a pleasant 5 minute waterside walk from the house and contains coffee shops, pubs and great casual restaurants (the Thai is first class) as well as all the usual facilities of an active village, including a Post Office, several banks, a newsagent, a Boots pharmacy, a library as well as a weekly street market, a taxi rank and buses to Southampton and elsewhere. A good-sized Waitrose is right in the middle of the village and is where you are most likely to meet many of your marina neighbours doing their grocery shopping. The village has three active churches and also hosts a program of European street market visits throughout the year as well as other annual events. The GP surgery is helpfully just a minute from the marina entrance.
The UK's oldest pier-train at the entrance to the high street connects to the ferry across Southampton Water to the Town Quay at the bottom of Southampton's high street and near the large West Quay shopping center. Town Quay is also where you will find the Red Funnel ferry and fast Red Jet catamarans to Cowes on the Isle of Wight. Hythe has a local sailing club which is very welcoming to new members and Dibden golf club with its spectacular views over Southampton Water is just over a mile away.
The wider area of the New Forest National Park is quite literally on the doorstep at under five minutes drive to cross the cattle grid (or a slightly longer cycle!) It contains so much to offer in terms of miles of unbroken trails and paths, glorious gardens and famous estates like Beaulieu and Exbury, a huge array of fantastic pubs, a few five-star hotels with truly wonderful restaurants and spas worth getting to know. For a special spot for evening drinks, members of the Royal Southampton Yacht Club and their guests enjoy the use of, 'Gins' on the River Beaulieu. This is a lovely spot; as is Bucklers Hard further up the river where you can take your boat, tie up on a buoy and pop ashore for lunch in the hotel restaurant or pub.
At around 2 hours drive to London, just over an hour to Heathrow and 20 minutes to Southampton Airport, you will find 8 Endeavour way at Hythe Marina Village is an ideal spot on the South Coast well connected to London and farther afield.
