WELCOME TO HYTHE The village of Dibden Purlieu is only a 2 minute drive away from the house. There are various shops and services there including a church, garage, convenience store, chemist, etc .The vibrant village center of Hythe is a 5 minute drive from the house and contains coffee shops, pubs and great casual restaurants (the Thai is first class) as well as all the usual facilities of an active village, including a Post Office, several banks, a newsagent, a Boots pharmacy, a library as well as a weekly street market, a taxi rank and buses to Southampton and elsewhere. The UK's oldest pier-train at the entrance to the high street connects to the ferry across Southampton Water to the Town Quay at the bottom of Southampton's high street and near the large West Quay shopping center. Town Quay is also where you will find the Red Funnel ferry and fast Red Jet catamarans to Cowes on the Isle of Wight. Hythe has a local sailing club which is very welcoming to new members and Dibden golf club with its spectacular views over Southampton Water is just over a mile away.

The wider area of the New Forest National Park is quite literally on the doorstep, only a two minute walk, cross the bypass and you are there. It contains so much to offer in terms of miles of unbroken trails and paths, glorious gardens and famous estates like Beaulieu and Exbury, a huge array of fantastic pubs, a few five-star hotels with truly wonderful restaurants and spas worth getting to know.
